Mobiles in the Air!

Hello families and welcome back to Kerplunk! Yeah!
What a great first class back.
Our theme for this session is flying, coinciding with the Tim Scofield exhibit Toys and Relics. I don't know about you, but I think Tim's flying machines are quite magical, and we created a bit of that magic in today's class. Families made mobiles with spinning objects, beads, and beautiful objects. Check out the beautiful results below.

See you all next week for the project Dreaming of Flying
You will create wings and become a flying machine yourself!

Reindeer Antlers! Dec.10th

Hello families. Now that it has finally gotten cold, it's starting to feel like the holidays. To get in the spirt we made some awesome reindeer antlers. They got decorated with markers and paper, to jewels and jingle bells. And everyone looked super cute!
Just a note we will be taking a Kerplunk! break until Feburary, look out for an e-mail and post about staring dates.
Have a great Holiday and a Happy New Years!

Tambourines! Dec. 3rd

Hi families! Hope you all had a great time making tambourines this past Saturday. Some tambourines were held together with wire, some had beautiful drawings, some even had 3-D pictures. They all looked fantastic! I hope you all had a chance to check out the wonderful Maria Broom show afterward and use your tambourine. Hope to see you this Saturday the 10th for out last Kerplunk! of the season. Stop by and make some reindeer antlers!

Identity Accessories at Kerplunk!

Last Saturday, November 19th, we had an amazing and fun time at The Patterson during Kerplunk! Participants made accessories that expressed their identities. We created shields, hats, crowns, arm bands, necklaces and more! Check out the images below to see all of the creative ideas and see how much you can learn about the person wearing the accessory.

There are three weeks left for the Fall 2011 Kerplunk!, we hope you will join us next Saturday 12pm-3pm.

Making Microphones at Kerplunk!

Thank you to everyone who came out for a fantastic first day of our Fall 2011 Kerplunk! Inspired by the new exhibition Unreliable Narrators, we created microphones so that we all had a way to tell our own stories. Participants made beautifully decorated microphones - check out the pictures below to see them for yourself.

Make sure you join us next week Saturday, November 19th, 12pm - 3pm at the Patterson to make Identity Accessories!
